TWIN FALLS, ID – Twin Falls and the In-N-Out community nationwide are grieving after a gunman murdered an In-N-Out Associate and customers at a newly opened location. The tragic event happened on Saturday (Aug. 1).
Chad Williams, 24, went to the In-N-Out location in Twin Falls in the middle of the day. Police responded to reports of an active shooter at around 2:29 p.m. Several video recordings from bystanders show Williams holding an assault rifle while going through the parking lot. At one point, the gunman returns to his vehicle to retrieve another gun from the trunk of his car.
A bystander reportedly exchanged gunfire with Williams during the intense moments. This action allegedly distracted the gunman and allowed more customers and Associates to escape. In all, three individuals were killed and seven others were injured in the shooting. The gunman also took his life at the scene.
“My heart is broken, my chest is heavy, my eyes burn from the tears I’ve shed,” In-N-Out president Lynsi Snyder said in a statement on Saturday (Aug. 1).
“We lost one of our beautiful Associates tonight,” Snyder shared. “She was taking care of our most important asset – our Customers, and her life was taken by a disgusting human who doesn’t value the lives of others or his own.”
Lynsi Snyder went on to tell her supporters that Chad Williams “shot both on our property and off, and ended his life shortly after he took the precious lives of our Associate and Customers, innocent people who never saw it coming.”
The In-N-Out president advised her supporters to turn to God for help. “I ask you to turn to God, not in anger, but seeking comfort and strength for those who are hurting,” the executive said. “We will stand together, and we will do everything we can to learn from this situation.”
