LONG BEACH, CA – In-N-Out is being sued for wrongful termination and discrimination based on religious practices. A former cook filed legal documents with the courts earlier this month.
TMZ obtained the lawsuit filed by Arianna Rodriguez. According to the documents, the fast food worker was employed by an In-N-Out location in Long Beach for five years without incident. It was at the five-year mark that a new manager took over the reins and started changing things.
Arianna Rodriguez’s Sunday schedule, in particular, became a point of tension. The new manager did not automatically honor her request for Sundays off for church attendance. This became problematic for Rodriguez.
According to Rodriguez, her Sunday availability became a “recurring source of workplace conflict.” In fact, the cook was written up for the first time under new management.
Rodriguez took her complaints to upper-level management in December 2025 but claims her concerns were dismissed. The former cook says she was ultimately terminated for an offense committed in the workplace for which other employees received warnings.
Rodriguez is presently suing for unpaid wages along with unspecified damages. She is also petitioning to be reinstated at her former job.
In-N-Out prides itself on being a Christian organization. The company’s president, Lynsi Snyder, shared the reason behind the fast food chain’s decision to put Bible verses on its packaging during a 2019 interview with The Christian Post.
“It was my uncle Rich who put the Bible verses on the cups and wrappers in the early ‘90s, just before he passed away,” Snyder shared. “He had just accepted the Lord and wanted to put that little touch of his faith on our brand,” she explained. “In later years, I added verses to the fry boat, coffee, and hot cocoa cups.”
Although a Christian brand, In-N-Out remains open for business on Sundays. There are over 430 locations throughout the United States, with standard operational hours being Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., and Friday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.
