SEATTLE, WA – Lynn Croft is seeking justice for her son, LeBron Castleberry, who was murdered outside his church, Pursuit Church in Seattle last July. The grieving mother spoke with KOMO News last month about the tragedy.
“It feels like all those bullets run right through me every day,” Croft shared with the news outlet. “I would like to see justice not only for my son, but also so this doesn’t continue,” she added. “They waited until he was walking into church with his wife and his son next to him, in broad daylight.”
LeBron Castleberry was heading into an event at Pursuit Church in Seattle on July 31, 2025, when he was ambushed and murdered on the premises. The congregant was killed in front of his wife and child as well as other attendees who were at the church-sponsored event.
A White Hyundai Elantra was identified by surveillance as the suspect vehicle. The car was found burned beyond recognition hours after the shooting. To date, no one has come forward with information regarding LeBron “Givaun” Castleberry’s murder despite Pursuit Church in Seattle offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
Although dedicated to his faith in the months leading up to his death, LeBron Castleberry was involved in the gang culture of Seattle for a period of time. In one of his final videos shared on social media, Castleberry told his supporters and critics about his spiritual awakening, which prompted him to remove posts online.
“I’m taking all my old music down,” LeBron Castleberry shared. “I gave my life to Christ, and some people are going to not like that,” he continued. “And that’s okay that some people are going to not follow me because I don’t want to push a negative type of music anymore. And I just want to apologize to anybody that I’ve led astray. You know, I’m sorry for that.”
A year after Castleberry’s commitment to spread more positive energy, Lynn Croft shared with KOMO News how she hoped someone would speak up about his murder. “I am hoping the community of Seattle will love my son just as much as my son loved Seattle,” the bereaved mother said.
