LOS ANGELES, CA – Tina Campbell and her husband, Glendon “Teddy” Campbell, are getting a divorce after 25 years of marriage. Teddy filed for marriage dissolution in Los Angeles County on Monday (Apr. 13), citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the petition.
According to TMZ,
“The docs say they share two minor children together … and although Glendon didn’t check any boxes about custody, he did ask the court to establish visitation and asked for any spousal support issues to be sorted out down the line.
Glendon checked the boxes indicating there are no separate or community property issues needing division … which could mean a smoother split — or that there’s some sort of agreement or other negotiations behind the scenes.”
Tina and Teddy Campbell wed in August 2000. Their marriage was rocked by scandal a decade later after Teddy’s infidelity went public. Tina chose to forgive her husband, despite his cheating with up to 20 women throughout their marriage.
“All of my trust has come back,” Tina Campbell said during an interview with Sister 2 Sister in 2014. “I love my husband more than I ever did. I am deeply in love with him,” Campbell shared.
“I was just talking to my brother-in-law last night because a lot of my family is even amazed with it. I don’t check on my husband. I don’t check his e-mails. First of all, I’m not that chick. I think too much of myself to be a detective behind some man.”
“And if I’m going to trust you and give you a chance, I’m going to give you a real chance and a real chance is not holding your hand and micromanaging.”
Tina Campbell gave fans insight into the struggles she has endured over the past seven years during a performance aboard the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage cruise last October.
“It has been so crazy over the last seven years that I thought I was going to lose my mind, lose my faith, lose my family and everything because it (sic) was just so much happening,” Campbell shared with passengers. “But somebody was praying for me when I couldn’t pray for myself,” she said.
“Somebody was holding on for me when I felt like letting go. Somebody was calling my name to The Lord in the middle of the night even though I was part of the reason for a lot of my problems. Somebody didn’t give up on me.”
Tina Campbell is half of the Gospel duo, MaryMary. The singer’s sister, Erica Campbell, is the other half of the equation. MaryMary is recognized as a trailblazing group that ushered in what later became known as Urban Gospel music during the early 2000s. Tina and her sister Erica also blazed the path of reality television for Christians in 2012 with their show, Mary, Mary. Reality series such as Preachers of L.A. (2013), The Sisterhood (2013), and Preachers of Detroit (2015) followed thereafter.
Teddy and Tina Campbell have four children together.
