CHARLOTTE, NC (12:07 p.m., PST) – Titus Tucker, Worship Pastor of Forward City Church, is asking for restitution from American Airlines after his guitar and its case were completely destroyed during travel. The worship leader shared a photo along with his request on Instagram this past Saturday (Jul. 25).
“Unrecognizable,” Titus Tucker said of his guitar and its accompanying case. “Make it right,” he wrote to American Airlines. The worship leader also tagged the company on Instagram in hopes of spreading awareness.
Many saw the post online and commented on the condition of Tucker’s instrument and the case designed to protect it. “In a hard case,” KJ Scriven asked. “You know how hard it is to do that with a hard case?” Stevie Mackey wrote, “This was dropped from the heavens.”
According to the American Airlines website,
“Bags may get damaged when they’re checked, even with our best efforts. If you notice damage to your bags after landing, file a report before leaving the airport.”
Those who saw the photo of Titus Tucker’s instrument and case inadvertently questioned the “best efforts” aspect of the company’s statement.
“I don’t know what was worse, the guitar or their customer service,” Travis Greene shared in the comments section of Tucker’s post. Israel Houghton also commented on the service he received from American Airlines in past times and subtly accused the company of trying to “skate away from” compensating customers when damages as such occur. “American Air Just Don’t Care. Period,” the recording artist declared.
Titus Tucker has not provided an update on the situation, nor has a representative from American Airlines publicly addressed the damages.
Titus Tucker joined Forward City Church as its Worship Pastor in 2022. He previously served in the same role at All Nations Worship Assembly in Chicago, Illinois, and at Faith Church in West Palm Beach, Florida.
