Tributes Pour In For Worship Leader, Trevonna Elmore, Killed In Car Accident

ALLENDALE, SC – Tributes continue to pour in for Trevonna Elmore after the recording artist was killed in a head-on collision last week. Several family members and friends from Elmore’s church took to Instagram with fond memories of the wife and mother of two.

“Today was so strange without you,” Aleya Eve Smith wrote on Facebook this past Sunday (Jun. 14). “All weekend I kept looking for you, hoping that you were just running late but you never showed up,” Smith continued.

“For four years, week after week, hours of rehearsal, we’ve sung (sic) together and mastered blending and sounding like one voice. How do I go back to just half a voice without you? My alto sister.”

Trevonna Elmore was a worship leader at her church and also a member of the recording group Daughters of Destiny. The singer’s husband, Shavontay Elmore, took to social media one day before his wife’s passing to celebrate Trevonna’s work in the studio as well as their sixth wedding anniversary.

“We started out as friends at KFC in Hampton, SC,” Mr. Elmore shared on June 6, 2026. “Over 10 years later, we’re married with beautiful children, countless memories, and a life I’m grateful for every day,” he added.

“Happy 6th Wedding Anniversary, baby,” Mr. Elmore wrote to his wife. “She’s been in the studio working for the last 24 hours, but tonight she gets to put all of that aside and simply be Mrs. Elmore. Just me + HER.”

Trevonna Elmore’s final Facebook post was shared in honor of her sixth wedding anniversary. The recording artist passed away on June 7, 2026, after a JEEP Wrangler changed lanes in a no-pass zone. The JEEP hit the Elmores’ Mercedes SUV head-on. Trevonna died at the hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. The driver of the JEEP was arrested and charged with felony DUI with death.

“I met Tre over 10 years ago, and Heaven has always been that girl’s goal,” Shavontay Elmore shared during a Facebook Live session on Wednesday (Jun. 17). “She believed in what she talked about, what she sung (sic) about. She believed it wholeheartedly,” the widower said of his late wife.

“She lived a full life,” Mr. Elmore continued. “She lived a life that was full of great moments, and happiness, and joy. Trevonna just was a beautiful soul. And, of course, this news is devastating to all of us. It shocked us all. And if we could change anything about it, we would.”
