NEW YORK CITY, NY – Sherri Shepherd refuses to give up on her mission to spread joy through daytime television. The entertainer recently promised her fans that she would continue to fight for her talk show, Sherri, despite its cancellation.
Shepherd addressed news reports of her talk show being cancelled earlier this week. “I know that you have seen the news, and I’m ready to address it,” the television personality told her audience during Monday’s airing of Sherri.
“Our show has not been renewed for another season,” Shepherd confirmed. “In thinking about it, I’m truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love that I have received from all of you.”
News of Sherri Shepherd’s talk show being cancelled spread last week. Many were shocked and in disbelief as Sherri is an award-winning show.
“I want to say, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you,” Shepherd told her supporters during Monday’s airing. “I want to thank you for welcoming me into your homes every single day,” she added.
“I want to thank you for laughing and crying with us. Thank you for supporting my unhealthy obsession with Lenny Kravitz.”
Sherri aired its first episode on September 12, 2022. From its inception, the show has centered the concept of joy.
“The intention of this show was always, always, was my prayer for you to leave happier than when you came,” Shepherd told her audience. “It has been my dream to have a talk show, and I’m so grateful I got the chance to do it for four seasons.”
Although the show has not been renewed by the network for another season, Sherri Shepherd promised her supporters that it isn’t going away.
“I want to be clear. I’m not ready to throw in the towel on this show just yet,” Shepherd assured. “We’re going to be airing episodes all through the fall, and we’re going to continue to fight to keep this show alive in some way, shape, or form,” she continued. “If anybody knows me, they know I’m a fighter,” Shepherd declared.
“I don’t know exactly what it’s going to look like, but I promise, I will continue to spread joy.”
