Michele Morrone Says ‘The Housemaid’ Movie ‘Is Going To Be Very Faithful To The Book’

Readers who love The Housemaid by Freida McFadden can rejoice as Michele Morrone, who portrays Enzo in the forthcoming film, recently told the press the movie does not deviate away from the book too much.

“I think the film is going to be very faithful to the book,” Morrone told Variety at the SXSW TV Film Festival. “That’s all I can actually say,” the actor added.

The Housemaid is the story of Millie who takes a job as a housemaid to Nina and Andrew. Millie is hoping the job will give her the fresh start she desperately needs. It doesn’t take long, however, for the housemaid to realize not everything is as it seems in the family home.

Sydney Sweeney is set to portray Millie in the forthcoming film adaptation of The Housemaid. Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar will portray Nina and Andrew, respectively.

“It’s very dark, dramatic [and] twisted,” Sklenar recently said of his role in the film. “Norman Bates meets Patrick Bateman,” he shared of the character of Andrew in the book.

“It’s not gory but it’s twisted. It’s out there for sure,” Sklenar continued. “I am a little unhinged. You very rarely get the opportunity to just let the cat out of the bag.”

The Housemaid comes to theaters on Christmas Day (Dec. 25).
