DALLAS, TX – Kingdom Culture Church in Dallas, Texas, is picking up the pieces after the historic snowstorm, which has impacted half the country, caused the facility’s roof to cave. The church’s pastors, Dr. Jaquet and Pastor Sherman Dumas, took to Instagram on Tuesday (Jan. 27) to solicit prayers and support.
“As you can see behind us, today we have literally stepped into devastation,” Pastor Dumas told his social media supporters. The clergyman and his wife were standing inside of the damaged building in front of a portion of the roof that caved during the storm.
“One of our leaders felt an unction to come to our building to check on the status, and see what was happening,” Pastor Dumas revealed. “This is what he walked into.”
Kingdom Culture came to its edifice on Old Straus Road in 2024. The church arrived on the four-acre land after encountering several setbacks.
“Getting here hasn’t been easy,” the leadership of the church said during an interview with SHOUTOUT DFW in December 2024. “In June 2023, we faced what seemed like devastating setbacks,” the leadership continued. “Plans changed unexpectedly, and we found ourselves navigating uncertainty between two cities. However, these challenges proved to be divine redirection.”
“By staying true to our vision and trusting God’s plan, we’ve seen remarkable breakthrough. We recently acquired a beautiful 4-acre property with an 11,000 sq ft building in Cedar Hill, and our launch services have been so packed we’ve had to turn people away!”
The momentum of the church was high when the historic snowstorm touched down in Dallas last week. “The ice and the snowstorm just did a number on us,” Dr. Jaquet Dumas said in Tuesday’s video. She shared in her husband’s positive outlook after the devastation.
“Our hearts are heavy, yet full of hope,” Pastor Dumas told Instagram supporters. The clergyman went on to request assistance from ministry partners in the way of helping them find a temporary edifice to hold worship services.
“Maybe you’re out there and you know, you have a connection, you have a place that can be a temporary spot for us to be able to gather together and come together as a family called Kingdom Culture.”
