Dr. Michael Brown’s ‘Living In The Line Of Fire’ Postponed After Outrage

Dr. Michael Brown’s forthcoming autobiography, Living In The Line of Fire: How God Can Turn Rebels Into Revivalists and Broken People Into World-Changers, has been pushed back after readers criticized the Christian leader for releasing the book while under investigation.

The webpage on Brown’s site that featured his book delivered an error message on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. On Amazon, the date of release for Living In The Line of Fire has been moved to October 1, 2025.

Supporters and critics of Dr. Michael Brown questioned the timing of his autobiography’s release last week. “I find it unconscionable, unchristlike, tone-deaf, and extremely hurtful to the victims of clergy sexual abuse and spiritual abuse at the hands of Dr. Michael Brown that Destiny Image Publishers would release Mike’s autobiography while he’s being investigated for clergy sexual abuse,” Ron Cantor of Shelanu TV wrote on X. “Read the room! You could not have waited until the investigation was over?”

Another critic said, “This just shows that he has zero intentions of stepping away from ministry regardless of the results of the investigation.”

Dr. Michael Brown is presently accused of grooming and sexually harassing one of his Bible school students 23 years ago. The spiritual leader was in his 40s and married at the time while the alleged victim was 19 years old. Brown is also accused of soliciting and engaging in phone sex. The spiritual leader has not answered to this allegation, though Brown has admitted to forming an emotional bond with his first accuser that reportedly resulted in inappropriate interactions.

A firm known as Firefly was hired to investigate the accusations against Brown near the end of last year. The spiritual leader vowed to step away from public ministry until the results from said investigation were completed.

To date, Dr. Michael Brown’s Line of Fire brand airs previously aired episodes on YouTube. Brown also recently attended the Presence Driven Conference at Mercy Culture Church in Fort Worth, Texas, which was launched last year to empower pastors. He did not serve as a speaker but was honored by the conference’s host.
