Summary
The story begins with the main character expressing her love for the color pink. She introduces us to her room, which is the color she adores. The main character then proceeds to tell us how much she dislikes the other colors in the world. She also shares how much she wishes her cat, dog, and hamster were pink like her room.
And then, her wish comes true. The little girl’s animals transform into her beloved color. It is when everything in her world turns to pink that the main character realizes the error of her wish. She cannot find her cat, dog, or hamster because they blend so well with her room’s decor. One wish from the little girl to return things back to normal restores the original colors of her beloved pets. The main character concludes that, while she adores the color pink, her love for her animals is greater than her desire to live in a pink world.

In this story, children are introduced to a main character who is faced with a decision. She can either live in a world painted pink, or she can realize that not everything is meant to be one color. The main character chooses the latter, which leads young readers to see the importance of diversity.
