NEW YORK, NY — Sheinelle Jones is on a quest to understand how women raise highly successful humans. The TODAY show co-host announced her forthcoming book, Through Mom’s Eyes, on Thursday (Sept. 19).
“If you are a mom, a grandmom, an auntie, a big sister, a cousin — if you take care of any children, and I say children ages 0 to even 62, because mothering never stops, this is my love letter to you,” the journalist said during her big reveal.
Sheinelle Jones let curiosity lead when creating her new book. The journalist was considering the tools celebrities such as Matthew McConaughey were given by their mothers, which led to her segment, “Through Mom’s Eyes,” on TODAY.
“As a mom of three, I thought, ‘Man, what did their mother feed them? Why are they so delightful?’” Jones ultimately got the chance to question a few of the mothers of Hollywood’s elites during her special segment. Their answers to her questions encouraged more inquisitiveness.
“I noticed after interviewing about 20 of them that I was taking all of these jewels and applying it to myself for my own kids,” Jones said of the impact the interviews had on her life. “[I was] calling my girlfriends and being like, ‘Can I tell you how Steph Curry’s mom got him to do his chores?’”
Jones ultimately decided to share the wealth. “I sat down and I thought, you know what? Let me see if I can write about what I’ve learned. And it has been one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done.”
Through Mom’s Eyes debuts next April, which is just in time for Mother’s Day 2025 in the United States.
“We are so excited,” Putnam Books wrote online after seeing the announcement on Instagram. “Congratulations on your new book coming out,” another fan exclaimed. “You are truly amazing,” the supporter added.
“I definitely will get one for each of my two daughters! It sounds so very enlightening and to the heartfelt wishes Moms have for there (sic) children! Both young and old! Best wishes and blessings and prayers to a wonderful thoughtful and beautiful inside and out person!”
